Center for civil society strengthening (CJCD)

Who we are and what do we do?

History
CJCD is non-governmental and non-profit association, founded in April 2011. Our members and founders have been active as informal group for 3 years prior to the registering the organisation in 2011, mainly with inter-religious/intercultural dialogue and human rights.
Mission
CJCD was founded for establishing of its goals in the field of civil society empowerment: promotion of human rights and civil society strengthening, support of educational and legal reforms, environmental protection and raising awareness about ecology, development of rural areas and support of small entrepreneurship.
Non-formal education
We have extensive experience in organising non-formal education activities and facilitating/training them on both local and European level (mainly with high school students, but also faculty students and on several Youth in Action projects coordinated so far), initiating different projects and programmes for human rights education and promoting intercultural dialogue and acceptance on international level, but especially in local communities where we come from with different ethnical and cultural minorities and marginalised groups. Over the past years, we have organized several international projects, mainly supported by the Erasmus+ (previously Youth in Action) framework, with the central activity in form of training courses for youth workers.
